Alaric ( Matthew Davis ) and Kaleb ( Chris Lee ) are going to have some explaining to do on  Legacies . They learned in the Season 4 premiere that Landon ( Aria Shahghasemi ) is still alive in the depths of Malivore, and that saving him would require a sacrifice that no one's ready for Hope ( Danielle Rose Russell ) to make yet. After Season 3 of The CW’s supernatural series was cut short, the final four episodes of the season were kicked to Season 4, starting with tonight’s premiere episode, “You Have To Pick One This Time”. Cleo remained a hot commodity on Thursday’s  Legacies  premiere, with both Malivore and the Super Squad stopping at nothing to rescue her and/or use her for inspiration to defeat the other. Whichever came first. The wayward muse’s journey through the bowels of Malivore brought her to an alternate reality modeled after her home village, complete with her mother, her sisters and even her  little frog friend . She regaled them with stories about how she’s been inspiring people all over the world, and everything felt right… until Hope and MG snuck into Malivore’s head and crashed the Sowande family reunion. If all goes according to plan this season, Hope Mikaelson will become the first TV character in history to be conceived on one show ( The Vampire Diaries ), born on a second ( The Originals ), then die on a third ( Legacies ). And if you think Hope’s impending death is a spoiler, you probably shouldn’t look at  Legacies ‘ official Season 4 poster , which puts the character’s face behind three giant words: “Hope. Must. Hope Mikaelson ( Danielle Rose Russell ) and the rest of the Super Squad — Lizzie and Josie Saltzman ( Jenny Boyd  and  Kaylee Bryant ), MG ( Quincy Fouse ), Cleo (Omono Okojie), and Kaleb ( Chris Lee ) — have their hands full when  Legacies  Season 4 begins. She's going to 'revert' in some ways In Season 4 of  Legacies , Hope must die. Or at least that's what the trailer and the poster and the past three seasons would have us believe. "Hope" could refer to the literal concept of hope, but it more likely means  Legacies ' main angsty teen ( Danielle Rose Russell ) is in for a major life change as she activates the last part of her supernatural superhero self to become the tribrid: part witch, part werewolf, part vampire. Currently, Hope is a witch and a werewolf. She has to die and give up all hope of growing up in order to become a vampire, which is not exactly her first choice in futures. But Hope's unusual lineage was the inspiration for  The Originals , and it's been a part of her journey since the beginning of  Legacies , so there's no way we'll make it through this whole show without her going full tribrid.
